The Greene Town Center

The Greene is a unique open-air shopping center. It features more than 100 upscale retailers and restaurants and has become Dayton’s leading destination for fashion and dining. Located in Beavercreek, The Greene Town Center is also home to upscale residential housing and office space for those who want to live, work, and play in a combined community.

Mall at Fairfield Commons

Beavercreek is also home to the Mall at Fairfield Commons. This mall, located close to I-675 on the east side of Dayton, offers more than 100 stores, including Abercrombie & Fitch, JCPenney, and Macy’s. There is also a wide selection of dining options, including BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Flyby BBQ, and a vibrant food court.

Oregon District

The Oregon District in downtown Dayton is a thriving area for entertainment, dining, and shopping. The 12-block area, which runs along Fifth Street, is lined with unique shops and boutiques, along with dozens of trendy restaurants and pubs. It’s the perfect place to shop for vintage clothing, used books, jewelry, and home goods.

Tanger Outlets

If bargain hunting is your thing, check out the Tanger Outlets center in nearby Jefferson, just 30 miles east of Dayton. This regional shopping destination is home to more than 70 outlet stores, from American Outfitters and Ann Taylor to Williams-Sonoma and Yankee Candles. It’s worth the drive to find great bargains.

Programs run from the family favorite – The Nutcracker – to more modern and experimental works.

The Dayton Opera

Active since 1960, the Dayton Opera produces a combination of classic and contemporary works at the Schuster Performing Arts Center. Over the years, audiences have been entertained by guest artists such as Placido Domingo, Robert Merrill, and Roberta Peters.

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, under the leadership of Artistic Director Neal Gittleman, is one of Dayton’s most established cultural institutions. The Philharmonic offers several different subscription series for listeners of all tastes, from the Masterworks and Recital series to the SuperPops and Rockin’ Orchestra series. All performances are at the Schuster Center.

The Human Race Theatre Company 

The Human Race Theatre Company is Dayton’s resident professional theater troupe, bringing live theater to the entire Miami Valley region. Performances are at the intimate Loft Theatre, located in the Metropolitan Arts Center in downtown Dayton.

Scene75
